Because for RGB strip, the power plug to strip connecting/cable is 4 Pins.
And for single colour tape, the power plug to strip connecting/cable is 2 Pins.

- my rgb 5050 strip light plugin AC/DC adapter is connected to my rgb control box and the lead from that is connected to the light strip. Your adapter is connected straight to the light strip will this work for me.

As for your question, this product is for 220V strip light, so it connected straight to the light strip.
